Industry work

AI products I built and led outside academia: four years at Volvo Cars, recent applied work, and a company of my own.

I build the things I study with. That is not a hobby bolted onto the research; it is the reason the research can ask what it asks.

Recently

More recently, at Eliq, my work has centred on trust in what a generative AI system tells people about their own energy: how you check that a model’s answer is grounded and true before someone acts on it, and how you keep human judgment in the loop when the machine does the explaining. It is the same question my doctorate asks, met in a consumer product rather than a classroom. Read the case study.

The other half of the bridge: Academic work, my doctoral research and the software I build for it.
